31 Oils in 31 Days Series - Day 19 Spotlight is on Melaleuca "Tea Tree" Oil

Day 19: Melaleuca!

Or as you may know it “Tea Tree Oil”.

This oil is possibly one of my favorites because it is so multi-functional and powerful.

The oil is extracted from the leaves of the Malaleuca tree by steam distillation.

You can discover its benefits aromatically, topically and internally while diluted (ONLY high quality, therapeutic grade).

Some do add a drop of  therapeutic  grade Melalueca oil to a cup of water and drink it to support their immune system when they are starting to feel down.

We also use it when our front loader washer starts to get that mildew smell.  We add in a few drops and run a short cycle to “wash” the washer.  It’s no fun washing clothes only to have them come out with a slight mildew smell.  We have found this to be a great way to get rid of this.

The reason the words pure come to mind is because in our home we use is as an air purifier.  A few drops added to our diffuser with a little wild orange not only smells great but it helps to purify the air we breathe in our home.

Then there is beauty. I live in the mountains and when winter roles around my cuticles and nails get dry and brittle.  I combat this by rubbing the oil on the beds of my fingers. It can be used in your facial cleansing or added to moisturizer to both cleans and fight blemishes as well as rejuvenate the skin.

Other favorite diffusing partners of mine with Melaleuca are Lime or Lavender

Clean your house and clean your face with one mighty lil oil Melaleuca.
